I lost my Nana on the 28th March 2008. She had been poorly for quite a number of years but after losing my grandad in 2002 her health just started going down hill and she ended up having to leave her home in East Rainton and move in with my mam so she could be looked after. During the last ten years we have thought we were going to lose her on a number of occassions but she always seemed to fight back. This time she must have decided she had had enough and just gave up her fight.
My Nana died peacefully at home with her family holding her which is what she would have wanted.
I truly believe that it was Nanas choice in the end, she decided it was her time to leave us. I just miss her so much and can't believe that shes gone.

Legacy of Love.
A wife, a mother, a nana too,
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a wife not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you've earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we'll eternally keep.

You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why
A million times I needed you,

On the 30th November 2009 Nana and Grandads ashes were buried together so now they are truly reunited for eternity.

Nana your with lil JJ now up in heaven.. miss you ao much nana a have my moments were a just think about you and its so hard it honestly only feels like yesterday sinse we lost you a would love just to have a conversation with you like we used to at raintion and when you used to want me to do your hair for you i would do anything do to that again..a hope you and grandad arent fighting with walking sticks up there lol.. i love you nana xxxxxxx love sherry
2 years without you
i can't believe its been 2 years it seems like only yesterday that god decided to take you home. I miss you so much and just wish you were still here with me. When you left i didn't just lose my nana i lost one of my best friends. I will love you always.
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not meant to be,
So he put his arms around you
and whispered "Come to Me".
With tearful eyes we watched you,
as we saw you pass away.
Although we loved you deeply,
we could not make you stay.
Your Golden Heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.

For My Guardian Angel
The snow has almost gone
Spring a few months away
Things that are most precious
They just don't seem to stay
Skates and ski's will be hung
In their place for another year
Boots, hats and mittens
Snow angels that I hold dear
People planting their flowers
The grass will again be green
The sun we shall see more often
Not hiding behind a screen
When I think of seasons in heaven
I know there could be only one
It must be filled with peace and love

Lily's, violets, and tulips too
